 Frequently Asked Questions
  1. What is Mobile, On-Site Document Destruction?
We come to your facility and shred the documents at your site. Our trucks are equipped with a shredder that could process up to 6500 pounds of paper an hour.

  2. How much does On-Site Shredding cost?
The costs differ depending on the type of service requested. CDDC can provide you with a free review of your needs, and recommend a scheduled document destruction program. CDDC offers a broad range of schedules to match your shredding volumes. One time purges are a common service we perform as well. Contact us to schedule a visit or demonstration. Use our toll free number at 888-826-CDDC (888-826-2332).

  3. Our company uses a small paper shredder. Why should we pay for this service?
The typical paper office shredder is not designed to process a large volume of documents that need to be shredded over time. If it is too difficult or time consuming, your staff may choose not to shred material that should be destroyed. In addition, your company is paying the salary of your employees while they are doing the shredding. In most cases, this is more expensive than using a document shredding service. CDDC can shred in 4 minutes what it often takes almost 4 hours for your staff to do! CDDC can save your business time and money!

  4. Our company puts our documents in the trash, which then goes into a dumpster. Isn't that safe?
NO, Confidential Material in a dumpster is not protected under any laws. If it is open, it is available to the public. Items in a dumpster are delivered to a landfill where it is dumped in open space, allowing your documents available for pick-up at the landfill. Many private investigators offer the collection of information by going through dumpsters. This is called "dumpster diving," and in 1998, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that "dumpster diving" is legal.

  5. Why should we use an On-Site Service instead of an Off-Site Service?
On-Site destruction can be certified immediately. When the information is sensitive or the need to watch is critical, On-Site affords you the comfort of knowing it is destroyed before it left your premises. CDDC maintains operating procedures under NAID guidelines and guarantees both on and offsite services for hands free service.

  6. How do I know that my confidential documents have actually been shredded?
With our On-Site Service, you can watch the destruction via a television monitor on the side of the truck. The camera inside the truck is aimed at the shredder and you can actually view the shredding process as it is happening. CDDC will also provide you with a "Certificate of Destruction" with every invoice.

  7. What happens to my shredded documents after your truck leaves our facility?
Your shredded documents are mixed with up to eleven thousand pounds of other shredded paper in the truck. The shredded paper is then transported to a recycle facility where it is processed into recycled material.
